Change symbol characteristics
Symbol characteristics can be set by clicking Symbol Size in the Settings group on the Modify tab, for global sizing of all loads and boundary conditions. The Mechanical, Thermal Analysis, and Mesh Symbols buttons in the Settings group let you change the display characteristics of individual symbol types.
*
The size of individual load, boundary, and mesh conditions on your design can also be modified using the Modify buttons in the LBC and Mesh groups.
Individual symbol characteristics
The procedure for changing symbol characteristics is basically the same for all symbol types. Although the following procedure applies to load symbols found in the Mechanical Symbols of the Settings group, it can be applied to changing other symbols.
To modify the symbol characteristics for loads,
1. Click Modify, and then, in the Settings group, click the arrow next to Mechanical Symbols.
2. Click Loads. The Mechanical Loads dialog box opens.
3. Select the type of force load or pressure load whose symbol you want modify by clicking on the relevant selection indicator (for example, Face). When selected, the relevant indicator is highlighted.
4. If you want to change the scale method, click Scale Method field and select the required method in the box:
Fixed (the default): This method uses the value displayed in the Length box for the length of the symbol, regardless of the mechanical value represented by symbol.
Scaled: This method generally scales the size of this symbol according to the value of the applied force on the model that it represents. That is, the symbol for a load of 10 Newtons will displayed larger than the symbol for a load of 2 Newtons.
5. If you want to change the color, click Sym Color and change the color using the Color Selector dialog box.
6. When you have finished your symbol modifications, click to apply the changes to the symbols.
