1. Click Spline Channel and then, in the Channel group, click Create. The Spline Channel Editor dialog box opens.

2. Click the Misc tab. You can use the Workplanes section to create and activate workplanes without exiting the Spline Channel Editor.

3. Click On Face and select a face of a 3D object to create a new workplane on the face.

4. Click 3 Points and specify three points to create a new workplane which passes through the points.

5. Click Activate WP and select a workplane to activate the workplane.
