Route through a guide
Guides are special parts to lead the spline edge through points with tangent directions. There are two types of guides:
Physical objects
Virtual guides
Virtual guides are not part of the final harness product. In the Structure Browser, they are visible in a container under the harness assembly and they help you create channel edges faster.
To route a channel edge through a guide,
1. Create a virtual guide using the Guides tab.
2. Click and select a start point.
*
Select or clear the Show Solids check box at any time to show or hide the solid representation of the channel, respectively.
3. Click and select the virtual guide. The edge, passing through the virtual guide, is created.
4. Click or to specify further points or guides, respectively.
5. Click to complete the operation.
The following image shows a channel edge passing through guides.
Cabling automatically detects the shortest way from the last segment point to the guide. You can click to reverse the routing direction as shown in the following image.
