Create a cable channel dynamically
Before you can autoroute cables, you must prepare a path for them. With the Dynamic path command, you can select points in the viewport along which you want to route the channel, or use the 3D Copilot to place linear channel segments on your model.
To manually route a channel in straight segments,
1. Click Channel and then, in the New group, click Dynamic path. The Polygon Path dialog box opens.
2. Click a point in the viewport for the channel to begin.
Click Dynamic to use the 3D Copilot. The Modification by 3D CoPilot section appears in the dialog box.
Click Visual Path Params to view and change the path's appearance.
3. Select a method in the Modification by 3D CoPilot section of the dialog. You can switch between these two methods as you route the channel:
Click Adding to add an additional channel segment each time you select a point in the viewport.
Click Moving to move the most recently created channel segment.
4. Continue routing the channel by selecting further points in the viewport or with the 3D Copilot.
5. Click Next to add another channel segment, or click to complete the operation.
