Creo Elements/Direct Cabling overview
*
In this section of the Help, the term cabling refers not only to cables but to wires as well.
Creo Elements/Direct Cabling for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling ensures effective manufacturing by creating and validating 3D cable harnesses in your mechanical design. Bring together electrical and mechanical designs, cut errors, and speed up the design of complex wire harness assemblies with this versatile add-on module to Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
Creo Elements/Direct Cabling includes powerful features for creating and making the most of your harness assemblies:
Design and route 3D cable harnesses automatically or manually, and easily connect multi-conductor cables
Create harness assembly drawings for manufacturing
Access and add to an entire electrical library including wires, cables, connectors, fixtures, terminals, cable clamps, and other components in native Creo Elements/Direct Modeling format
Share electrical and mechanical data and accurate 3D prototypes for design reviews
Import and export wire lists from any ECAD system for easy automatic routing
Run reports and calculations to ensure manufacturability checks, and keep track of wire harness complexity with handy grouping features
