Creo Elements/Direct Cabling and Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager
You can save your own connectors, terminals, and fixtures to your local Creo Elements/Direct Cabling part libraries, or to Creo Elements/DirectCreo Elements/Direct Model Manager. You can load Creo Elements/Direct Cabling parts stored either in Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager or on your local drive via Cabling's Library menu.
*
Click the WM/MM check box in Cabling's Settings dialog box.
If your part contains a reference designator, you must Set Creo Elements/Direct Cabling library ID, before saving to Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager. This tool forces Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager to ignore the part's reference designator, which changed the part's name.
To create menu entries for your parts, you must edit the appropriate Catalog Configuration File (CCF).
To save a connector, fixture, or terminal to Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager,
1. Create a 100 by 100 pixel bitmap (.bmp) image of your part.
2. Save the image to the appropriate Creo Elements/Direct Cabling directory. For example, if the part is a connector, you might save its image to C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo Elements\Direct Modeling [version]\personality\cabling\library_parts\Connectors\My custom connectors\ [version]
3. If the part includes a reference designator, Set Creo Elements/Direct Cabling library ID.
4. Save the part to Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager.
5. In Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager, locate the model you just saved and find its ELID.
6. Locate and edit the appropriate CCF file. C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo Elements\Direct Modeling [version]\personality\cabling\library_parts\ is a typical path to the directories that contain these files.
In the CCF file, add the line for the new part. It requires a specific format: Model name | path to .bmp | LMM | ELID
Example: 480510 |[installdir]\library_parts\connectors\480510.bmp|LMM|BWJ08YDM2T3LLQ
To learn more, explore Creo Elements/Direct Cabling Tutorial 10: Define connector libraries.
7. Reload the CCF file in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to see the new part.
