Route cables manually through clamps
With the Through clamps command, you can route cabling through cable clamps placed on the model. You can interrupt the flow of the cable through clamps by selecting another position for the cable to pass through before resuming its route through the clamps.
To manually route cabling through clamps,
1. Click Cabling and then, in the Manual Routing group, click Through clamps. The Cabling Through Clamps dialog box opens.
2. Select a cable or wire.
3. If necessary, clear Auto Position to manually position cables in a new viewport showing the clamp's cross section. Otherwise, Creo Elements/Direct Cabling staggers cable positions when you route multiple cables through a clamp.
4. Click Start Pnt and select a starting point in the active workplane.
5. Adjust its tangency with Tang Dir and TangLen, if necessary.
6. Click Clamp and select a clamp.
7. (Optional) Route the cable through a point (other than a clamp):
a. Click Position in the Clamps section of the dialog. The Sc_Position_Cable dialog box opens.
b. Click Cirpos to place the cable at a point on the active workplane.
c. Click Accept.
8. Continue selecting clamps.
9. Click End Pnt and select an endpoint for the cable.
10. Adjust its tangency with Tang Dir and TangLen, if necessary.
11. Click to complete the operation.
