Route cables manually by polygon
With the Polygon command, you can select points in the viewport along which you want to route cabling, or use the 3D Copilot to place straight cabling segments on your model.
To manually route cabling in straight segments,
1. Click Cabling and then, in the Manual Routing group, click Wire.
2. Click Spline Wire. The Polygon Cable dialog box opens.
3. Select a cable or wire.
4. The Properties section displays the following properties:
Dia
Number of Wires
Bend Rad
Wire Color: Select the color of the wire or cable from the list or click the Wire Color button to open the Color Selector dialog box.
5. Click a point in the viewport to begin the cable.
Click Dynamic to use the 3D Copilot.
Click Add Fillet and specify its options to create fillets between each straight cable segment.
When selecting points, you can adjust the Offset. The Offset value defaults to the radius of the cable so that you route cables on faces, instead of in faces. Larger Offset values move cable segments farther from faces.
6. Select a method in the Modification by 3D CoPilot section of the dialog box. You can switch between these two methods as you route your cable:
Click Adding to add more cable segments each time you select a point in the viewport.
Click Moving to move the most recently created cable segment.
7. Continue routing the cable by selecting further points in the viewport or with the 3D Copilot.
8. Click to complete the operation.
