Define and position snap-in components
You can define and position snapping partners for custom connectors and other parts in cabling. After defining snapping partners, you can use the Snap-In command in the Library group to quickly load and position a custom cabling component's complimentary part.
To define and position snapping partners,
1. Create or load the two parts you wish to make snappable in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
2. Click Interface and then, in the Library group, click the arrow next to Snap Parts.
3. Click Counterpart Definition. The Auto-Snap Attributes dialog box opens. Define the snapping attribute and click .
4. Position the snapping partners in their snapped position.
5. Click Snap Parts > Position Definition. The Snap-In Connections dialog box opens. Define their positions by assigning the coordinate system and click .
6. Save each of the snapping partner parts as separate package files.
7. Create bitmap (.bmp) images of each part. They must be 100 by 100 pixels in size.
8. Edit a catalog configuration file (CCF) to include your parts and their images. To learn more, explore Creo Elements/Direct Cabling Tutorial 10: Define connector libraries.
Your parts are now recognized as snapping partners.
