Create bundles
You can design and route packs of parallel cables, called bundles.
To create a bundle,
1. Create an empty workplane.
2. Click Interface and then, in the Library group, click the arrow next to More.
3. Click Cable Pack under Pack circles together to define the size and shape of the cable pack. You can place circles of the same diameter in any configuration. Remember their diameter so you can select the correct cable in a future step.
Fast: This option is sufficient in most cases. It checks only nearby circles when calculating where to place the new one.
Advanced: Checks all circles when calculating the placement of a new circle.
4. Switch to Creo Elements/Direct Modeling and draw a construction circle around the bundle. Measure its radius and use it later to determine the fillet radius.
5. Route the cable using Cabling > Manual Routing > Wire > Polygon Wire.
If you choose a cable with a diameter close to that of the finished bundle, you can see any interference with other geometry. The finished bundle, however, will not be affected.
Click Add Fillet and enter a FilletRad equal to or larger than the diameter of the cable bundle, which you measured in step 3.
6. Click Cabling and then, in the Modify group, click the arrow next to More. Click Explode wires under Split Cable. Select a cable of the same radius as that of the circles you placed during step 2. Then select the workplane with the bundle sections. Finally, select the cable you routed in step 4.
Check Delete Original to delete the cable you routed in step 4 (the bundle should take its place).
