Create a channel using straight lines
Many times, you need the channel edge in a straight line. Instead of selecting several points on a linear path, you can use and select only the start and end point. Cabling creates intermediate points and tangent directions to keep the channel segment straight.
To create a channel using straight lines,
1. Click .
2. Select start and end points.
*
Select or clear the Show Solids check box at any time to show or hide the solid representation of the channel, respectively.
3. Specify as many sets of start and end points as required, and click to complete the operation.
The following image shows a channel using straight lines.

You can use the “+” and “-” buttons to refine the shape of the connection between two subsequent straight-line segments.
The upper buttons move the first point of the later segment, and
The lower buttons move the last point of the earlier segment.
The following image shows how you can refine the segments.
You can also use the “->” button to set the direction of the straight-line segment. When a direction is set, even if the end point is not in the selected direction, the straight segment is created in the selected direction. The following image shows an example.
