About Windchill PDM Actions
The Creo Elements/Direct Modeling and Windchill integration allows you to load, save, and manage data created by Creo Elements/Direct Modeling in Windchill.
To activate the Windchill PDM actions from Creo Elements/Direct Modeling:
1. Register Creo Elements/Direct Modeling with the Windchill Workgroup Manager:
◦ Install and start the Windchill Unified Workgroup Manager (UWGM) and set the Windchill server as the primary server.
2. Activate the Windchill Workgroup Manager in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling:
a. Click File > Modules. The Modules dialog box opens.
b. On the Modules pane, click Windchill WGM. The Windchill menu becomes available in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
The following tables explain the PDM commands that are inserted into Creo Elements/Direct Modeling when connected to the Windchill Workgroup Manager.
You can perform the following actions using the File menu in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.

Open from Windchill
File > Open from Windchill
Accesses the workspace on the registered Windchill server so you can open a CAD document that is stored in Windchill.
Save to Workspace
File > Save to Workspace
Opens the Save to Workspace window. Upon save, the document is uploaded to the server-side workspace.
Event Management
File > Workgroup Manager > Event Management
Opens the Event Management utility on the current server.
Update All
File > Workgroup Manager > Update All
Works like Update, but allows you to update all models in the session.
Refresh All
File > Workgroup Manager > Refresh All
Updates the current active workspace with the most recent status of the displayed objects.
Workgroup Manager
File > Workgroup Manager > Workgroup Manager
Opens the Windchill Workgroup Manager (if closed); accesses the Windchill Workgroup Manager (if open).
Server Management
File > Workgroup Manager > Server Management
Opens the Server Management utility, in which you can view or change Windchill servers and server active workspaces.
Workgroup Manager Help
File > Workgroup Manager > Windchill Workgroup Manager Help
Opens the Windchill Workgroup Manager Help Center.
Right-click an object in the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Structure Browser and perform the following actions using the context menu.

Save to Workspace
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Save to Workspace
Opens the Save to Workspace window. Upon save, the document is uploaded to the server-side workspace.
Check Out
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Check Out
Checks that the current model is not already checked out. If not, checks out the current model to the workspace.
Revise and Check Out
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Revise and Check Out
Checks that the current model is not already checked out. If it is not checked out, creates a new revision of the current file and checks the new revision out to the workspace, replacing the earlier revision in the workspace and in the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling session.
Undo Check Out
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Undo Check Out
Cancels the check out of the current model.

If the document was checked out using Revise and Check Out, the higher revision label is maintained.
Revert
From the context menu: Windchill Workgroup Manager > Revert
Reverts the modifications, and restores the last modified iteration of the object.
Custom Check In
From the context menu: Windchill Workgroup Manager > Check In > Custom Check In
Accesses the Check In page and allows you to change check in options.
Auto Check In
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Check In > Auto Check In
Automatically checks in the current file to the commonspace.
Update
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Update
Checks the server for a later iteration. If one is found, replaces the model in session and in the workspace with the latest server iteration.
Refresh
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Refresh
Updates the current active workspace with the most recent status of the displayed objects.
Change Load Type
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > Change Load Type
Changes the default load type of the model when it is loaded from Windchill in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
View Information
From the context menu: Workgroup Manager > View Information
Opens the server information page (workspace view) for the selected model.
