Transferring a model from Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to Pro/TOOLMAKER
You can use Pro/TOOLMAKER to post-process models that are created in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling for NC Manufacturing. To do this, you must perform the following tasks:
Transfer the model to Pro/TOOLMAKER after creating or updating the model. Optionally, this will automatically start Pro/TOOLMAKER and load the model.
Create or update the required NC post-processing in Pro/TOOLMAKER, and
Save the model in the Pro/TOOLMAKER.
To transfer a model to Pro/TOOLMAKER,
1. Activate the Pro/TOOLMAKER module:
a. Click Application and then, in the Base group, click (dialog box launcher). Alternatively, click File > Modules. The Modules dialog box opens.
b. Click the Pro/TOOLMAKER check box in the Appl. Interfaces pane.
c. Click Close.
2. Click Application Interfaces and then, in the Pro/TOOLMAKER group, click Transfer. The Transfer dialog box opens.
3. Select a model from the viewport or the structure browser in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. The File Browser dialog box opens.
4. Select a folder and save the model with a .g extension.

Click Start Pro/Toolmaker to automatically start Pro/TOOLMAKER after saving the model.
5. Click OK to close the File Browser dialog box.
6. Click OK to complete the operation.
To successfully transfer model information from Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to Pro/TOOLMAKER, set the path for Pro/TOOLMAKER installation directory and a default directory to store the model information transferred.
To change Pro/TOOLMAKER settings,
1. Activate the Pro/TOOLMAKER module in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
2. Click Application Interfaces and then, in the Pro/TOOLMAKER group, click Settings. The Pro/TOOLMAKER Settings dialog box opens.
3. Click Appl. Path.
4. Select the Path to the Pro/TOOLMAKER executable (for example, drive>:\Program Files\ProTOOLMAKER 9.0\ProToolmaker.exe) and click OK.
5. Click Default Dir in the Pro/TOOLMAKER Settings dialog box.
6. Select a default directory to store the information transferred to Pro/TOOLMAKER.
