Play an animation
When you play an animation you can choose to view clash information, save part positions in a configuration, and Export an animation. If you choose to view clash information, the analysis will detect clashing with any moving object, including parts, containers, and assemblies.
To play an animation,
1. Click Relations and, in the Animation group, click Play. The Play Animation dialog box opens.
2. Select an animation in the Structure Browser.
3. Use the controls to move forward or backward in the animation. Use the slider to move forward or backward by one tenth increments.
4. Click Sequence and select a sequence or relation from the list of elements to jump to the beginning of the sequence.
5. Select Consider Physical to turn physical simulation on or off while you play the animation.
6. The Play Options section allows you to choose
Cycles: The number of times to repeat the animation.
Start at: The control position where you want to start playback.
End at: The control position where you want to end playback.
7. You can adjust the playback speed with the options in the Play Mode section:
Analyze: Playback speed is defined as the number of steps calculated in the animation. More steps are calculated for high accuracy than for low accuracy. You should play the animation in this mode if you use the Clashing options described below.
Real-time: Playback speed is simply a percentage of the animation's original speed.
8. If you want to detect Clashing/Touching, you can choose
Show to highlight parts or faces when clashing is detected.
Stop to halt the animation if a clash is detected.
You should use Analyze mode described in the previous step when you detect clashing.
9. Click Create Configuration to save a new configuration based on the current object positions. See Configurations overview.
10. Click to end playback.

If you choose to detect clashing during an animation, Stop only works for parts that are visible in the Structure Browser. Make sure the animation owner is always fully visible before you start a clash analysis.
