Modify the contents of an annotation
Annotations are modified similarly to the way they were created. First you specify the annotation to modify, and the menu that was used to create it reappears displaying the parameters that were set for that annotation.
When modifying 3D dimensions, dimension values, tolerance values, and text fixes are not edited here, but with the Text button.
For example, if you click a radius dimension, Creo Elements/Direct Modeling opens the Modify Circular Dim dialog box in which you can change the reference for the dimension, specify whether or not to include a centerline, and switch between docuplane and free placement of the dimension.
To modify the contents of an annotation,
1. Click 3D Documentation and then, in the Annotate group, click the arrow next to Modify.
2. Click Dimension.
3. Click the annotation to modify. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling opens a menu similar to the one in which the annotation was originally created, showing the parameters of the selected annotation.
4. Modify the annotation as required.
5. Click to complete the changes to the annotation.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling shows the changes to the selected annotation as you make them.
To change a dimension label,
You can edit a dimension value, tolerances, and text fixes independently of other parameters of the dimension. To distinguish the edited value from actual (unadjusted) values, you can specify that the new value be underlined.
To edit a dimension label:
1. Click 3D Documentation and then, in the Annotate group, click the arrow next to Modify.
2. Click Text. The Edit Annotation dialog box opens.
3. Click the dimension to edit, or use the Select tool to edit multiple dimensions. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling displays the current dimension value, the radial prefix, tolerance values, and text fixes of the selected dimension.
4. Edit the values or text as required.
5. Edited values are not underlined by default. To underline an edited value, click Underline.
6. To restore a previously edited value to its original value, click Reset.
7. Click to complete the changes to the anno.
Two methods of using predefined values are available:
Click Presets to open the Dimension Presets table, from which you can select predefined tolerance values and fix texts to apply to the current dimension.
Click Grab and click another dimension in the viewport to adopt its text and values for the current dimension.
To reset edited dimension text to its original value, click Reset in the dialog box.
