Modify a group
Existing groups are modified in the same way they were created. After you select the group to modify from the browser, the menu used to create it opens and you adjust the group's definition therein.
When modifying a fixed group, you cannot change whether it is a general or exclusive group, or its owner. However, you can change its parent group (to a group lower down in the ownership tree) and its name and description. To add annotations to the group, click Add and click the annotations in the viewport. To remove annotations from the group, click Remove and click the annotations.
For variable groups, again you cannot change its owner, but you can change its parent group (to a group lower down in the ownership tree), its name and description. More importantly, the condition that determines the group's membership can be changed. This can be useful, for example, to make a minor editing change when searching over text strings, or for specifying a different range of dimension values to search over.
To modify a group,
1. Click Insert and then, in the Group group, click Modify.
2. Select the group to modify from the browser. The Fixed Anno Group or Variable Anno Group dialog box opens (depending on the type of group selected) displaying the parameters used to define the group.
*
Alternatively, you can also right-click the group in the Structure Browser, and select Modify on the context menu.
3. Adjust the parameters as required.
4. Click to complete the changes.
