Change docuplane default settings
The appearance and behavior of docuplanes are controlled by a collection of default parameters. You can change these settings to affect newly-created docuplanes.
To change the docuplane default settings,
1. Click File > Settings > 3D Documentation > Docuplane Settings. The Docuplane Settings dialog box opens.
2. Specify any of the following parameters:
Front Border and Back Border colors: The colors used to draw docuplanes as seen from the front and from the back of it. The current color settings are shown in the dialog box. Note that this setting applies to the docuplane when it is not the active docuplane; the active docuplane takes the default active workplane colors (green by default). Specify a different color with the Color Selector tool.
Border Type: The docuplane can be outlined with a border (the default Outline type) or can be filled in entirely with the Full option. You can also choose to make the docuplane invisible by clearing the Border visible check box.
Names: The default names given to new docuplanes derive from the Docuplane Names settings. The Docuplane Names dialog box lists all the docuplane types and their current default names, which you can edit as necessary. You can also specify whether the naming convention for section docuplanes should start from A-A, B-B, C-C and so on, or from Z-Z, Y-Y, X-X, and so on.
3. Size Update: Allows you to automatically resize the docuplane within the following commands:
Modify docuplane (default on): The docuplane size is updated after the docuplane has been selected. For example, within the Modify Docuplane or Modify Border, Sub-Docuplane commands.
Create/Modify Anno: The corresponding docuplane is modified after the creation of each new annotation and the old and new docuplane is updated within the Modify Anno command.
Delete Anno: The corresponding docuplane is updated after the deletion of an annotation.
Modify Anno Position: The corresponding docuplanes are updated after the commands: Modify Anno Position, and Ref Position.
Gather Anno: The corresponding docuplanes (old and new one) are updated after the Gather Anno command.
Factor (under Docuplane enlargement): Multiplies the X and Y size of the docuplane by the value you set. To see its effect, you must start the modify command for a docuplane after you change this option.
Grid: You can display a Line or Dot grid on docuplanes. The Width and Height options allow you to specify the distance between grid lines or dots.
Axis: By default, the u-v-w axis is shown on docuplanes, but you can clear the Show Axis check box to stop the display of the axis.
4. Continue changing settings, or click to accept the changes and complete the operation.
