Whenever you create a new docuplane, it becomes the active docuplane. The active docuplane is selected automatically in other commands where docuplanes are an option (for example, in creating annotations). It can save time if you make active the docuplane that you work with more often than others.
To set the active docuplane,
1. Click 3D Documentation and then, in the Setup group, click Active.
2. Click the docuplane to make it active.
Note that either a workplane or a docuplane can be active at one time, and not both. This is because when adding 2D geometry, it must be clear if the geometry should be added to the docuplane or to the workplane. Therefore, you can also make a docuplane active by clicking in the Active WP area at the bottom of the screen and clicking the docuplane to be active.
