Show a docuplane
To help you visualize your annotations, you can restrict the viewport's drawlist to only a selection of annotations based on their owning docuplane. When you Show the annotations of a docuplane, the viewport changes as follows:
The viewport's drawlist is changed so that it shows only the selected docuplane.
The view direction is changed to be the docuplane direction.
Only annotations belonging to the selected docuplane are displayed in the viewport; all others are hidden.
If the selected docuplane is a sub-docuplane, then the sub-docuplane border defines what is shown in the viewport.
If a configuration is active when you show a docuplane, it is automatically deactivated and the configuration associated with the docuplane (if any) is activated unless you turn it off.
To quickly show a docuplane's annotations using default options,
1. While the 3D Documentation module is active, double-click a docuplane in the structure browser.
To show a docuplane's annotations,
1. Click 3D Documentation and then, in the Display group, click the arrow next to Show.
2. Click Docuplane. The Show Docuplane dialog box opens.
3. Click Reset Viewport to remove the clipping planes and coordinate axis from the view of the model. Deactivating a clipping feature by double-clicking it in the Structure Browser accomplishes the same.
4. Optionally, click Viewport and specify the viewport in which you wish to show the docuplane.
5. Specify the docuplane whose annotations are to be shown:
Click the Docuplane to make it active, or select it in the browser. Click and to navigate through a multi-section's docuplanes.
Click Annotation and click an existing annotation to select its owning docuplane.
6. If the selected docuplane is a section docuplane, you can choose whether or not it should visually section the model; clear the Cross Section check box to remove sectioning. (This check box is cleared for all docuplanes except section docuplanes.)
7. If required:
Use Configuration: Activate the configuration that is associated with the docuplane.
Use Active Clip Feature: Show any non-section docuplane while any clipping feature is active.
Use Manage Parts / WP Info: Click to define whether parts and assembly should be displayed (according to existing Manage Parts settings). Clearing the check box displays all parts.
Show Coordinate Axis: Display the docuplane's coordinate system (axis) in the viewport.
Use Secure Parts / WP Info: Click to define whether parts and assemblies should be sectioned (according to the existing Secure Parts settings in Creo Elements/Direct Annotation).
8. Continue showing docuplanes, or click to end the show session.
Three additional tools offer you further control over which annotations to show:
To show the annotations on all docuplanes having in common a specific owner, specify the Owner by click a part or by selecting the part, assembly, or container in the browser.
To show all free annotations in the viewport, simply click the Show all free annos button in the menu.
To show all feature points in the viewport, click Show all feature points.
Keep in mind that the Show command is restricted to the viewport selected. You can have multiple viewports open, each showing a different docuplane. This could be useful, for example, to show two section docuplanes in two viewports at the same time.
