Attach material to a part
Attach material to a part without using a Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal license. The materials table lists Standard material from the basic shop. You can specify additional materials with different thicknesses, but not other material types.
The thickness of any part you want to handle in Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal should be equal to the thickness (gage) of a material defined in the Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal Technology Database.
To attach a material attribute to a part,
1. Activate the Basic Sheets module:
a. Click File > Modules. The Modules dialog box opens.
b. On the Modules pane, click Basic Sheets (under Free). The Sheets tab opens on the Ribbon.
2. Click Sheets and then, in the Attach group, click Material. The Attach dialog box opens.
3. Specify a part to attach a material attribute. The Sheet Metals (material) table of the basic shop appears.
4. Select a material from the Sheet Metals table and click Apply.
5. Click to complete the operation.
*
If the specified part has a material already attached to it, the material ID and the thickness will appear in the relevant boxes. You can either leave the dialog with Cancel or proceed and specify another material.
