Rules for inseparable objects
An inseparable object must comply with the following rules:
You cannot share individual components of an inseparable assembly outside the inseparable assembly. You can share components within the inseparable assembly.
If a component of the inseparable assembly is shared outside the assembly, the sharing connection is broken.
When you mark an object as inseparable or separate an inseparable object:
A new SYSID is assigned to the object to prevent automatic sharing.
The symbolic name and symbolic version information of the object is removed from the object.
Database attributes related to the object are removed.
If you mark a Creo Elements/Direct Part Library part as inseparable, it will no longer be recognized as a library part because the symbolic name and the symbolic version information are removed from the object.
*
If you move a Creo Elements/Direct Part Library part out of an inseparable assembly, the library properties (attributes such as SYSID, symbolic name, and symbolic version) of the part are reactivated and the part is again recognized as a library part. If an equivalent library part is already used in the session, it will be shared instead. The existing library part will replace the reactivated part.
If you change the state of one of the components of an inseparable assembly to read-only, the state of all the parts and assemblies within the inseparable assembly changes to read-only.
If you modify a part within an inseparable assembly, the modification state of the inseparable master is also updated. If you store the recently modified parts of an inseparable assembly using Save Modified, the whole assembly is stored.
You cannot mark an object as inseparable or separate an inseparable object if the object is read-only.
