Mate and Align positioning tools
The Mate Align positioning tools are more powerful than the standard positioning tools. For example, you can show the degrees of freedom colors and mate/align several objects at the same time.
*
Either the Relations module or the Assembly module must be active to use these commands.
For Mate Align positioning,
1. Click Structure and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click the arrow next to Position.
2. Click Mate. The Position dialog box opens with the Mate Align method selected.
The options available under Mate Align are:
Mate - Mates the specified faces/edges/vertices together. (Adds a coincident relation with opposing normals which are hidden from view.)
Parallel - Makes the specified faces or edges parallel.
Align - Aligns the two specified faces, edges, or vertices.
Align Axis - Aligns the specified axes.
Offset - Offsets the elements by the specified amount (used with options Mate and Align).
Reverse - Reverses the normals produced with the options Mate, Align, and Parallel.
Clear - Clears all Mate, Align, and Parallel options currently defined. The already moved objects remain at their current positions.
