Physical simulation
Use the Physical option in the Pos-Dynamic menu to analyze how parts move within an assembly and in relation to other parts. This option simulates the dynamic, physical behavior of a part being moved and the parts it collides with.
The Physical option in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling works the same way it does in life. A part has restricted movement in space based on the other parts that it cannot move through. The motion of the dragged part is the result of forces applied to that part. The parts that the dragged part collides with will also influence the part's motion. The part that was hit by the dragged part will also receive a force and will translate or rotate if it is not fixed in space. Because of this, under-constrained models will change in a way that is determined by each part's degrees of freedom and how the parts collide with each other.
The Physical option can also be used with an active relation set to view the real time motion of an assembly containing several relations. Creating a relation reduces the number of freedoms for referenced parts and enhances the performance of physical simulation. Use the physical simulation option with relation sets to analyze a new class of mechanisms where relations between references need to change during simulation. For example, if you have a pin moving in a slot, this movement can be demonstrated using a cam relation. However, if the pin does not always have contact with one of the faces, or if the pin changes contact between faces (such as the top and bottom faces), this movement can be demonstrated using physical simulation.

You must turn on Update Relations with Physical when working with relation sets.
Use the Physical option to analyze if the motion of a part of a model behaves as intended. If the part stops and cannot be moved by any of the other dynamic methods, then the model does not meet the criteria and the design should be changed to meet its purpose. The Physical positioning option is not intended for exact part positioning. Please use the other options from the Position and Pos-Dynamic dialogs instead.
Specify how the selected parts and other parts behave by setting the Physical options in the 3D CoPilot Settings menu.

The Adv Assembly module must be activated to use the Physical option.
