Adding faces to a symmetrical move operation using linear dimensions
To add a face to a symmetrical move operation using a linear dimension,
1. Select the midpoint of a linear dimension. The visual feedback shows the 3D CoPilot with bi-directional arrows that you can drag to move the faces connected to the dimension.
2. Click the 3D CoPilot dragger and move the cursor or click on the CMT and move the cursor to move both the faces connected to the dimension. The Symmetrical Move dialog box opens.
3. Press the SPACEBAR (or the assigned key combination) to open the Option Mini Toolbar (OMT) and select (Add Faces to Move) on the OMT.
4. Select one of the reference faces or the dimension on the right-hand side; select the additional side face, and middle-click to complete the selection. You must select a reference face to indicate a side that the additional face should belong to.
5. Press the SPACEBAR (or the assigned key combination) to open the Option Mini Toolbar (OMT) and select (Add Faces to Move) on the OMT.
6. Select the reference face or the dimension on the left-hand side and select the additional face.
7. Click the 3D CoPilot dragger and move the cursor to specify the final position of faces. The visual feedback shows the selected faces on both sides moving as you move the cursor.
8. Click to complete the operation. The following image shows the final part after you move the selected faces.
