Punch or Stamp a part
The Punch tool is another machining operation which removes material from a part. You can punch one or more profiles linearly through a part or a face part. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling then removes all material inside the punched volume.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling punches the selected parts or face parts for an infinite distance in both directions normal to the active workplane: W and -W. You may position the workplane anywhere in the punch path.
The Punch operation supports Profile handling.
The Stamp tool removes material from a part. You can stamp one or more profiles linearly through a part or a face part. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling removes all material outside the stamped volume.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling stamps the selected parts or face parts for an infinite distance in both directions normal to the active workplane: W and -W. You may position the workplane anywhere in the stamp path.
The Stamp operation supports Profile handling.
To punch or stamp a part,
1. Click Modeling and then, in the Model group, click the arrow next to Remove.
2. Click Punch or Stamp. The Punch Stamp dialog box opens.
*
If you click Punch, Punch is selected in the Punch Stamp dialog box. If you click Stamp, Stamp is selected in the dialog box.
3. Select from the following options:
Punch and Stamp: Allows you to easily switch between punch and stamp operation.
Part: Specifies the name for the part (or list of parts) to be machined. You also can use the browser (Browser) to specify the part. The default is the active part.
Workplane: Specifies the workplane and profile to use. You can also use the browser (Browser) to specify the workplane. The default is the active workplane (if it contains a profile).
*
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling allows all kinds of profiles on the active workplane.
Selected: Allows you to specify certain areas of the profile. Refer Profile handling.
Realistic Feedback: Specifies whether to show realistic feedback in the viewport or not. Default value is taken from Modeling Settings.
Keep WP: Specifies whether to keep the workplane after the punch or stamp operation. The default is to keep the workplane.
Keep Prof: Choose whether to keep the profile after the punch or stamp operation. The default is to keep the profile. If you choose not to keep the workplane, you will automatically lose the profile in that workplane.
4. Click to complete the operation.
