Example: Sectioning a part using faces
In this example, you will section part 1 with face 3 of part 2, creating the resulting new part 4. Shown below are the initial parts and the resulting parts after the sectioning.
Example: Sectioning a part with a face
To section one part into two parts using one face:
1. Position part 1 and 2 so that they intersect each other.
2. Click Modeling and then, in the Model group, click the arrow next to Remove.
3. Click Section. The Section dialog box opens.
4. Click Parts and click part 1.
5. Click Faces and click face 3 (on part 2).
6. Click to complete the operation.
