Example: Sectioning one part into three parts with a profile
In this example, you will section part 1, creating the resulting new parts 2 and 3. Shown below are the initial part and the resulting parts after the sectioning.
Example: Sectioning one part into three parts
To section one part into three parts:
1. Position workplane w1 and create a profile to cut through the part. This geometry must be a closed profile.
2. Click Modeling and then, in the Model group, click the arrow next to Remove.
3. Click Section. The Section dialog box opens.
4. Click Parts and click part 1.
5. Click Workplane and click workplane w1.
6. Click to complete the operation.
