Example: Pulling a profile to a face (remove material)
In this example you will pull a profile to face part fp1 from the active workplane /a1/w1 without keeping the workplane or profile for the next operation. The figure below shows the initial face part fp1, profile, workplane, and graphical feedback showing the pull direction . The resulting new part p1 is also shown.
After creating the workplane and profile:
1. Click Modeling and then, in the Model group, click the arrow next to Pull.
2. Click Pull Linear. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling opens the Pull dialog box.
3. Type the name of the resulting part: /p1
4. Type the name of the workplane containing the profile: /a1/w1
5. Select To Faces from the Type list, then click the target face part fp1. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling displays fp1 in the box next to To Faces.
6. Define the pull direction by choosing the option in the Direction list that shows a feedback arrow (1 in the figure) pointing in the direction of the face part.
7. Clear the Keep WP check box. The Keep Prof option is automatically cleared.
8. Click to complete the operation. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling pulls the profile to the face part and creates a new part with the same surface contour as the face part.
