Using modules
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling uses several modules that enhance, check, and perfect your designs. Base modules do not require a special license, but all others require a purchased license.
To activate a design module,
1. Click File > Modules. You can also click Application and then, in the Base group, click (dialog box launcher). The Modules dialog box opens.
2. Click on a module name to activate. The modules are listed in the left pane of the Modules dialog box:
Modules: Lists frequently used modules.
Applications: Lists free applications such as Annotation and 3D Documentation and important paid applications such as Sheet Metal, Cabling, FEA and others.
Data Interfaces: Lists the major CAD software products and CAD standards that Creo Elements/Direct Modeling supports for data exchange.
Appl. Interfaces: Lists the applications such as Creo Simulate and Pro/TOOLMAKER that Creo Elements/Direct Modeling supports.
3. Click Close when you are finished. Modules are activated as soon as you check them on or off.
To switch between modules,
Once you have started a module from the menu, you can move freely between it and Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. Some modules may activate a previously grayed-out button or add a number of new buttons to the user interface.
Larger applications (such as Creo Elements/Direct Annotation) have their own user interface panel. Accessing these applications is different: Click Applications and then, click [Module Name]. For example, if you activate the 3D Documentation module, you can switch between Modeling and 3D Documentation. To switch from Modeling to 3D Documentation, click Applications and then, in the Included group, click 3D Documentation.
To add and remove default modules on startup,
1. Click the Startup button in the lower left corner of the Modules dialog box.
2. To add a module to the startup list, select a module from the left (under Modules). If you own a license to this module, then the Add button becomes active. Click Add to display the module in the right menu.
3. To remove the module from the startup list, select the module on the right and click Remove.
4. From the Initial Application list, choose which application you want to open first:
Modeling: The core Creo Elements/Direct Modeling application.
Last Activated: The last one in the startup list.
5. Click OK when you are finished.
