If you want to remove a part position from a configuration, see Remove data from a configuration.
To modify a configuration,

2. Click NewName and type a name for the configuration.
3. Click New Owner and select a new owner assembly in the Structure Browser.
4. Select an Attachment for the configuration:
Instance—Saves the configuration information in the assembly's instance file.
Contents—Saves the configuration information in the assembly's contents file.
5. Select a Pos Mode (positioning mode):
Absolute—If you move the assembly in the viewport, the parts move into the exact positions that are defined in the configuration.
Relative—If you move the assembly in the viewport, the parts move into positions that are relative to their current location.
6. Click to complete the operation.
