Modify hatch attributes
The attributes of existing hatching can be modified. You can specify if the changes should apply to manually- or automatically-created hatching or both. The parameters of the default hatch pattern or another specific pattern can also be applied to the selected hatching on the drawing.
All automatically-created hatching of a part is modified when you specify any hatching on that part. This affects all views displaying the part's hatching.
To modify the individual elements of existing hatching,
1. Click Annotation and then, in the Annotate group, click the arrow next to Properties.
2. Click Hatch.
The Modify Hatch dialog box opens with the Manual and Calc options selected. This allows you to select both manually- and automatically-created hatching; you can switch off either of the switches to restrict hatch selection.
3. Click the hatching to modify.
4. Click the options (under General) that you want to change, and type or select a new value as appropriate.
5. Continue changing settings, or click to effect the changes to the selected hatching.
Note that when the pattern settings become equivalent to an already-defined hatch pattern, the existing pattern's name is displayed in the Name box. You can also import an existing pattern's attributes into the General options; see the next section.
The hatch distance
The figure shows the pattern line distance of hatching.
The hatch angle
The hatch angle is measured with respect to the view on which it appears. For example, setting an absolute hatch angle of 90 degrees on a view that has been rotated 45 degrees would display the hatching at 135 degrees. If this view were rotated another 45 degrees (that is, to an absolute angle of 90 degrees), then the same hatching would be seen at an angle of 180 degrees.

The hatch reference point
If an existing hatch line clashes with other drawing lines on a part, you can specify a hatch reference point to avoid the ambiguity. The base line of the hatch pattern is adjusted to pass through the specified point.

To specify a hatch reference point, click the point on the sheet, or enter coordinates in the user input line.
