Create drawings from models (Creo Elements/Direct Annotation) > Bundles

Bundles
A bundle (indicated by the .bdl file extension) is a 3D model and associated drawing that have been saved together in Creo Elements/Direct Annotation. Loading a bundle loads the part or assembly into Creo Elements/Direct Modeling and the drawing into Creo Elements/Direct Annotation. (You can also load a bundle file into Creo Elements/Direct Modeling while Creo Elements/Direct Annotation is not activated; in this case just the 3D model is loaded.) Click File > Open to load a bundle. The Load browser opens.
If you try to load a bundle while a drawing is already loaded in Creo Elements/Direct Annotation, you receive the following warning:
Loading a drawing will destroy all your current data in the Annotation Module. Save data before executing command.
Additionally, if you specify that the current 3D model should be deleted upon loading the bundle, Creo Elements/Direct Annotation issues the following warning:
Your complete current 3D model will be deleted. Save 3D data before executing command.
If necessary, click Cancel in the warning box and save the current drawing or 3D model; otherwise click Continue.
Click Options in the Load file browser to open the Load Bundle dialog box, in which you can specify the following:
Click one or both of the load options (both are selected by default):
Load Drawing to load the Creo Elements/Direct Annotation drawing.
Load 3D Model to load the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling model.
Click Delete Current 3D Model to delete the current 3D model in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. This prevents a model from being loaded twice, and therefore shared, in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
A loaded drawing replaces the current one, and a loaded model is included in the current Creo Elements/Direct Modeling session.
You can also load files by dragging and dropping them into Creo Elements/Direct Annotation.
Save bundles
You can save a Creo Elements/Direct Modeling model and associated Creo Elements/Direct Annotation drawing together as a bundle. The result is a single file with the extension .bdl. You must specify the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling part or assembly to save with the bundle:
Select the components from the Structure Browser.
Click the components in the 3D VP (if one is open).
Enter the names of the components in the user input line within double quotes ("").
To save the bundle, click File > Save. The Save file browser opens.
If you try to save a bundle with the filename of an existing bundle, Creo Elements/Direct Annotation asks you whether to overwrite the existing file or cancel the operation.
Click Options in the Save file browser to open the Save Bundle dialog box, in which you can specify the following:
If you are replacing an existing bundle file, two save options are available. Click one or both of the options:
Replace Drawing to overwrite a previous version of the Creo Elements/Direct Annotation drawing.
Replace 3D Model to overwrite a previous version of the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling model.
You can save bundle files in the file format of earlier versions of Creo Elements/Direct Annotation. Files saved in this way are readable in that revision of Creo Elements/Direct Annotation. To save bundle files in the file format of earlier versions, select from the File Version drop-down list in the Save file browser.
