Modify sheets overview
This section explains how to create and work with sheets. A drawing can have one sheet or several sheets. Typically, for a complex part, each sheet may contain a specific view or view set. Multi-sheet drawings also make working with assemblies easier to manage because you can place different parts of an assembly on different sheets.
Consider the following example showing a drawing made up of three sheets. Each sheet contains one or more views.
Item
Description
1
Sheet 1 contains the front view of the plate.
2
Sheet 2 contains the top and right views of the plate.
3
Sheet 3 contains an isometric view of the plate.
4
Sheets 1, 2, and 3 together make up the drawing.
The sheet that is displayed in the Creo Elements/Direct Annotation Viewport is referred to as the active sheet. Creo Elements/Direct Annotation displays the number of the currently active sheet at the bottom of the user interface. You can only place views on the active sheet.
When working with sheets, note the following:
Each drawing contains at least one sheet.
You can display only one sheet at a time.
A drawing can have sheets of different sizes.
You can change the size of an existing sheet.
Views can be moved between sheets.
When you save a drawing, the sheet or sheets it contains are automatically saved (sheets cannot be saved independently).
Single sheets can be exported to the MI, DXF, and IGES file-formats for subsequent data-exchange purposes.
To open Sheet Properties dialog box:
1. Click Annotation and then, in the Setup group, click the arrow next to Properties.
2. Click Sheet.
With the Sheet Properties dialog box, you can change the following properties of an active sheet:
The number of the sheet.
The scale of the sheet.
The changes are immediately visible in the viewport.
