Set dimension line attributes
The Lines section in the Default Settings browser (Click File > Settings > Dimension > Dim Arrow and Line Settings) contains all the settings determining the appearance of dimension lines. Changes made to these settings affect subsequently created dimensioning.
Set the extension line offset from dimension points
You can set the offset of the dimension extension lines from the dimension points. The offset value given represents the distance from the specified dimension points on the view to the start of the extension lines. See the figure for an example. Double-click under Value for Offset point and enter an offset value.
Set the extension line offset from dimension lines
You can set the offset of the dimension extension lines from the dimension line. The offset value given represents the distance from the dimension line to the end of the extension lines.
Double-click in the Value column for Offset line and enter an offset value. The figure shows two dimensions with different offset settings. The left dimension has Offset Point and Offset Line values of zero, whereas the right dimension has Offset Point and Offset Line settings of 10 mm.
Set a broken dimension line
You can determine how dimension lines are to be drawn if the dimension text is not placed within the dimension extension lines. The two options are:
On
The dimension lines are not connected.
Off
The dimension lines are connected.
1. Double-click under Value for Broken Line.
2. Check or clear the check box for Broken line.
The figure shows two dimensions with different broken line settings. The left dimension has a Broken Line setting of Off, while the right dimension has a setting of On.
Set the arrow and line color and pen size
1. Double-click under Value for Line style.
2. Select a style.
