Generate reference numbers
Reference numbers for elements represented in a BOM table can be added both to the table and to the position flags.
*
If you obtain the BOM data from the WorkManager database, the flag numbers are also taken from the database. You can generate new numbers with the Numbering command, but these changes must be saved to the database (with Save BOM in the WorkManager menu) to be retained.
To generate BOM reference numbers,
1. Click Insert and then, in the BOM group, click the arrow next to Manage.
2. Click BOM Numbering. The Numbering dialog box opens.
3. Specify one of the numbering options:
Sequential Steps
Generates new numbers for the BOM elements. Enter the first number of the sequence in the First data entry field, and the increment between numbers in the Step field.
Original Data
Returns the original (or last-saved) WorkManager numbers to the BOM data. If the BOM was created by scanning, this option clears the numbers.
Scan Drawing
Searches for existing reference numbers on the drawing, in both BOM tables and in position flags. This is useful to restore numbers after rescanning an assembly.
Clear All
Removes all numbers from the BOM.
4. Click to complete the operation.
Note that an update is required to see numbering changes on the drawing.
