Save and load a simplification
Creo Elements/Direct Manager Server stores the simplification definitions as part of the original model and the simplified geometry models as separate files related to the original model. Therefore the original model must be saved to the Creo Elements/Direct Manager Server database before the simplification rule is executed and the simplified model is stored in the database.
Save a simplification:
1. If the original model has not yet been saved in the database, select the model, then right-click and select > .
2. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, click Simplification and then, in the Feature group, click New. The Create dialog box opens.

The Simplification module must be active.

3. Specify the owner of the simplification in the Owner box and type the name of the simplification in the FeatName box.
4. Right-click the model and, in the shortcut menu, click > .
5. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, click Simplification and then, in the Manage group click 
Execute to execute the simplification. The model's icon in the Structure Browser changes to show the simplification.

It is not possible to execute a simplification if the model structure to be simplified has multiple versions of a part or assembly.
You cannot execute a simplification for a child component of Inseparable objects.

6. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, right-click the model and, in the shortcut menu, click > . The Save Type in the Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Save dialog box is Simplified.
7. Click Load.
Load a simplification:
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager, right-click a model which has a simplification and, in the shortcut menu, click Load. Alternatively, double-click the model. The Model Manager Load dialog box opens.
2. In the Simplification Name box, select a simplification stored in the database.

The Simplification Name box shows all the simplifications stored in the database. You must use logical names for the simplifications so that the simplification related to the model can be easily identified. For example, if the simplification of the Chassis assembly has no blends, you can name the simplification Simple_NoBlends.

3. Click Load.

The selected simplification name is used for all subparts. If an item does not have a simplification by the selected name, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager loads the full model.
