Integrate Creo Elements/Direct Part Library
Use Creo Elements/Direct Part Library for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to add unmatched convenience to your design work. Because Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager supports Creo Elements/Direct Part Library, you can integrate your work into your Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager database. Plus, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager and Creo Elements/Direct Part Library integrate automatically when you install both products.
When you integrate Creo Elements/Direct Part Library with Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager, you can save parts from Creo Elements/Direct Part Library to your Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager database. Your Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts exist only once in your database and anyone with access to the database can share and reuse these parts.
To save Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts,
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, start Creo Elements/Direct Part Library and Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager from the Applications menu.
2. Select your part from the Creo Elements/Direct Part Library menu.
3. Load your part inCreo Elements/Direct Modeling.
After you select and position your library part, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager checks if that part already exists in the database:
• If the part exists, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager loads the part from the database.
• If the part doesn't exist, Creo Elements/Direct Part Library creates the part in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, and Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager saves the new part and its Masterdata to the database. By default, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager saves Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts in the LIBRARY_3D class.
To search for Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts,
By default, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager saves Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts in the LIBRARY_3D class.
1. Click Home and then, in the Search group, click the arrow next to 
Advanced.
Advanced.2. Click Advanced. The select options open in the left pane.
3. Click 3D Libraries in the Search through box.
4. Click Search. Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager displays all Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts saved to the database.
Load Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts
Once you've saved Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts to the database, you can load them in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling as you do with other models.
Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager identifies Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts by their System IDs. When you load more than one instance of a Creo Elements/Direct Part Library part in your Creo Elements/Direct Modeling session, either from the Creo Elements/Direct Part Library menu in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling or from Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager, Creo Elements/Direct Modeling treats all instances of the part as shared parts.

To protect you from altering standard parts in Creo Elements/Direct Part Library, you can't modify Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling or Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager. Because you can't edit Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts, you also can't revise these parts in Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager.

• The default document class for a Creo Elements/Direct Part Library part is the LIBRARY_3D class.
• The document NAME field of a Creo Elements/Direct Part Library part in Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager is not editable and must not be edited as it is used for later identification.
• When creating the same standard part multiple times within one model, the Creo Elements/Direct Part Library part gets automatically shared. This is also true after saving it to and loading it back from the local file system. However, when selecting the same standard part multiple times within different Creo Elements/Direct Modeling sessions, saving these models to the file system will result in multiple copies of this standard part in your local file system. The parts will have different sysids. When loading multiple copies of the same shared part from the disk into Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, the system does not check if they are the same. The parts remain separate and do not get shared. The Synchronize option can be used to fix problems with multiple sysids for Part Library parts with the same name. See Synchronize library elements.
• Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts are always "read-only" within Creo Elements/Direct Modeling and Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager.

Before creating cross-part references (i.e., dimensions, relations) for assemblies that contain Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts, ensure the Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts have already been saved to the database; otherwise the cross-part references may be lost when the Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts are saved to the database later. During a save operation, the part may be replaced by the same part in the database from a previous save operation. The previously saved part will have a different Creo Elements/Direct Modeling sysid. Since these sysids are the basis for cross-part references, they will be lost after the exchange of the Creo Elements/Direct Part Library parts is complete. See Synchronize library elements.
