Assign a Data Dictionary
You can define the data type of an attribute by assigning a Data Dictionary to the attribute. For example, you can assign a Data Dictionary which has the VARCHAR data type to attributes like description or name.
To assign a data dictionary,
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Standalone, click Admin on the Workspace Bar.
2. In the left pane, under What do you want to manage?, click Data Dictionaries. The Data Dictionary Management pane opens.
3. Browse to the Data Dictionary.
4. Right-click the Data Dictionary and, in the context menu, click 
Assign. The Assign Data Dictionary to Attribute dialog box opens.

6. Click OK to complete the operation.
