Change controlling project
A controlling project controls the permissions for an item. An item may only have one controlling project.
To change the controlling project for an item,
1. Select the item in the Workspace.
2. Click Structure and then, in the Projects group, click Change Controlling Project. Alternatively, right-click and, in the shortcut menu, click Change Controlling Project. The Select Controlling Project dialog box opens.
3. Select the new controlling project. To create a new project, click the arrow next to New and click Project. The Select New Controlling Project dialog box has the same tabs as the Workspace so you can select the new controlling project from your recent list, projects or favorites, or search results.
4. Click OK.
5. The controlling project has been changed, but the visibility of the item has not been affected. In the confirmation dialog, you can modify the visibility of the item in the old and new controlling projects. An item may be visible in any number of projects. It does not need to be visible in the controlling project.
Remove link from old project makes the item no longer visible in the old project.
Add link to new project makes the item visible in the new project.
Don't ask me again will cause future changes of controlling projects to use the same settings you set this time without showing the confirmation dialog.
6. Click OK.
If you always want to see items in their controlling project, select both Remove link from old project and Add link to new project.
To remove the controlling project for an item,

1. Select the item in the Workspace.
2. Click Structure and then, in the Projects group, click Clear Controlling Project. Alternatively, right-click and, in the shortcut menu, click Clear Controlling Project.
Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager remembers the settings in the confirmation dialog. If you always use the same settings and want to skip this dialog, select Don't ask me again.
You can also control the display of the confirmation dialog from the Advanced tab of the Preferences dialog box.
