Delete and unlink Masterdata
You can delete Masterdata without deleting the linked items from the database. You can also remove the links between a Masterdata and other types of data associated with it. Both the Masterdata and the other item will still exist in the database; only the association will be removed.
To delete a Masterdata:
The Masterdata will be deleted, but the items linked to it will remain in the database.
1. Select the Masterdata in the Workspace window.
2. Click Structure and then, in the Modify group, click Delete from database. Alternatively, right-click Masterdata and, in the shortcut menu, click Delete from database. The Delete dialog box opens.
3. The Delete Wizard checks the Masterdata and displays the items to be deleted or unlinked.
To remove (unlink) an item from Masterdata:
When you unlink an item from its parent Masterdata, both the Masterdata and the item remain in the database. Only the link is removed.
1. Expand the Masterdata in the Workspace window.
2. Click the item you want to unlink.
3. Click Structure and then, in the Modify group, click Remove from parent. Alternatively, right-click the item and, in the shortcut menu, click Remove from parent. The Confirm Remove dialog box opens.
4. Click Yes to confirm and No to cancel the operation.
