Configure E-mail server
Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager uses a Mail Server (SMTP) to deliver e-mail notifications of subscribed events.
If you don't configure an E-mail Server, Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager attempts to use an embedded SMTP server. E-mails will be sent to users from the medmgr e-mail address, and errors (such as problems with the Job Schedule processor) will be sent to the medmgr e-mail address.
You can configure an E-mail Server to use your organization's SMTP Server, and then specify the e-mail addresses that should be used.
To configure,
1. Click Configure E-mail Server.
2. In the SMTP Server Configuration section, select one of the following:
Click Use embedded SMTP server (default) to use the SMTP server provided as part of Creo Elements/Direct Manager Server.
Click Use configured SMTP server to use your organization's SMTP server. Type the fully-qualified hostname (you may need to ask your IT department for this information). The default port is 25.
Click Disable e-mail notifications to remove all e-mail capability from Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager.
3. In the E-mail Address Configuration section (not available when e-mail notifications are disabled), type
E-mail Sender (From): Type the e-mail address that the Manager Services will include as the "reply to" address (for example, postmaster@yourdomain).
Admin E-mail: Type the e-mail address for the user that should receive e-mail if there are problems with the Job Schedule processor. This address will be used as the value for the <AdminContactEmail> tag in the xml configuration file.
4. To check your settings, click Send Test E-mail.
5. When you are satisfied with the configuration, click OK.
*
In some environments, it may not be possible to send e-mail through the embedded server from the Admin client or directly from the server because the organization does not allow e-mails to be sent directly out to the Internet. Contact your IT department for more information.
