PKM files
A PKM file contains the set of database objects to enable the complete drawing to be loaded when Creo Elements/Direct 2D Access or Creo Elements/Direct Drafting is not connected to the database.
A PKM file is similar to an Creo Elements/Direct Modeling SDEXP file. It contains the drawing file itself, the required frames, change notes, and other referenced metadata to complete the drawing.
A PKM file is cpio format, much like a zip file.
You can view PKM files with Creo Elements/Direct 2D Access and Creo Elements/Direct Drafting. PKM files are the best format for giving drawing data to someone who does not have access to your Creo Elements/Direct Manager Server database.
You can open a PKM file from the Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager Web Client in Creo Elements/Direct Drafting or Creo Elements/Direct 2D Access, even if Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager is not installed on your computer. For more information on the Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager Web Client, see the Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Customization guide.
