The dimension text frame surrounds all dimension text relating to the dimension geometry. Normally, the frame is switched off. You can make the frame appear as a box-shaped frame or a balloon-shaped frame or a flag-shaped frame by selecting the appropriate option (see Dimension Text Frame -- Options).
