Symmetry-Style Dimensions
The commands Symmetry Single and Symmetry Long let you specify symmetry-style dimensions. Following figure shows an example of symmetric dimensioning. In drawing 2, the first dimension point is assumed to be on a symmetry line. No extension line or line terminator is drawn for that element, and the dimension text value is doubled to indicate that the dimension represents both sides of the symmetry line. Drawing 1 shows the unseen half of the geometry.
Symmetry-Style Dimensioning
To produce a (single) symmetric dimension:
1. Click Linear in Dimensions.
2. Click Symmetry Single in Linear.
3. Click the first dimension point.
4. Click the second dimension point.
To produce a (datum) symmetric dimension:
1. Click Linear in Dimensions.
2. Click Symmetry Long in Linear.
3. Click the first dimension point.
4. Click the second dimension point.
5. Continue clicking dimension points as required.
