1. Click Linear in Dimensions.

2. Click Chain in Linear.

3. Click Perpend to in Chain.

4. Click a reference line. You can use any line on the drawing as the reference line.

5. Click the dimension points or elements to be dimensioned. If your selection contains multiple drawing elements, they become the first members in the chain.

6. If Manual placement was selected, click the desired location for the dimension text(s), using the dimension trace for guidance.

7. To continue the chain, select additional linear elements.
