Editing Toolbar Items
To change the name, type, action or other property of a menu item in the Creo Elements/Direct Drafting user interface:
1. Display the menu item you want to change.
2. Press the right mouse button on that menu item. This brings up the Edit Toolbar Item dialog box.
Caption Key
The string in this field is the label displayed for the current menu item.
Enabled
Tick this box to enable the menu item or untick this box to gray out the menu item.
Unique Name
The Creo Elements/Direct Drafting internal name for this menu item. Note that this name must be unique.
Item Type
This combo box enables you to pull down a selection list of standard Microsoft Windows item types. The item types in this list are context sensitive. For example, a popup button enables you to select a submenu (discussed below) which will be displayable via this popup button.
Submenu
Enables you to branch to a submenu.
Tooltip Key
A brief description of the current menu item.
On Action
A command or function or macro name (e.g.:
change_color
) to be triggered via this menu item. Note that any macro specified here must be created separately.
On Right Click
Command, function or macro name to be triggered by pressing the right mouse key on this menu item.
Category
This string allocates the menu item to a category for selection in the Toolbar Items tab.
Domain
Name of the file where Creo Elements/Direct Drafting will look for your localized version (if any) of this menu item. Note that multiple toolbars may share the same domain file. Optionally, a separate domain file may be created for each toolbar.
Image
Brings up an icon editor. Refer to Creating Icons for details.
List Keys
Click New (Insert) to add an entry to the list of items. Click Delete to remove an item from this list. Click the up or down arrow to scroll within the list of keys. Note that any action string you define here requires an associated action definition in a separate macro.
*Combo boxes, radio buttons and checkboxes require the creation of a separate macro. For more detailed background information on the user interface customization capabilities of Creo Elements/Direct Drafting, refer to the TOOLBAR_ITEM section in the Creo Elements/Direct Drafting Help. Destroy not only removes items from the Toolbar Items tab but actually deletes the associated files. Note that Destroy cannot be undone.
