The GEO SENSE and SCAN commands on the DIMENSION 1 menu quickly generate basic dimensioning for a selected set of drawing elements based on their geometry types, positions, and parametric constraints, if any.

Geometry-sensing assignment is not intended to provide "automatic" dimensioning. It is best used to provide a basic dimensioning framework that you can then modify as needed to generate the final dimensioning.
