Loading a Subpart
You can load a part file as a subpart under the active part.
To load a subpart:
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Drafting, pull down the File menu.
2. Click Load File.
3. Unless the file you want to add as a part is listed in the file pane of the Load File dialog box, pull down the Directory selection list and change to the directory where the file is stored. If this directory is specified in the file pane, double-click on the directory name to list the files contained in it.
4. Switch on the As Subpart check box option in the Load File dialog box.
5. Click or specify the filename.
6. If a file is provided in a format other than MI (the default), pull down the Filter selection list and select the applicable format. Refer to Opening a Drawing File via the Drafting File Browser for a list of supported formats.
7. Click Open to add the file as a part to the current drawing in Creo Elements/Direct Drafting.
Creo Elements/Direct Drafting automatically loads the part into the position, relative to the origin, in which it was originally created.
*
Creo Elements/Direct Drafting loads the file as a part. The part belongs to the active part and is placed under it in the parts hierarchy.
