Perpendicular Dimensions
To create a perpendicular datum dimension:
1. Press DIMENSION 1.
2. Pick a datum dimension command (DATUM LONG, DATUM SHRT or DATUM COOR).
3. Pick Perpend to.
4. Select MANUAL or AUTO placement.
5. Identify a reference line. You can identify any line on the drawing as the reference line.
6. Identify a single dimension point. This becomes the common datum point.
7. Select one or more additional dimensioning points.
8. If MANUAL placement was selected, indicate the desired location for the dimension text(s), using the dimension trace for guidance.
9. To add more dimensions relative to the common datum point, select additional drawing elements.
