Measuring Distances
The MEASURE functions allow you to obtain values for arc lengths, distances, point coordinates, angles, and areas. These functions are useful if you need to enter a value measured from existing features on the drawing. To illustrate this, consider the following example.
Suppose you want to draw a vertical line starting at 100,100 and of the same length as an existing line drawn at an angle of 40 degrees:
1. Press CREATE.
2. Pick Vertical in LINE.
3. Enter the start point 100,100 and press [Enter].
4. Now interrupt the command by pressing LENGTH in the MEASURE block.
5. Identify the existing line.
6. The length will appear in the User Input Line. Press [Enter].
Creo Elements/Direct Drafting automatically returns to the Vertical command.
7. Press [Enter] to obtain a vertical line of equal length to the angled line.
